ABOUT
Launched in 2010, the EPSMF Competition for Young Musicians was crafted with artistic standards set by the From the Top team (2009) when EPSMF hosted their live-taping in El Paso. This competition is open to the public and invites musicians (ages 8 to 19) of instrument or voice to apply. Finalists are selected through an extensive application and audition process to compete in a spring recital. The winner receives a cash award and the opportunity to perform in the EPSMF’s Summer Concert. Second and third place positions were added to the competition in 2011, along with cash awards. The judges reserve the right to make the appropriate awards based on musical competency and standards of performance. Talent may also be acknowledged with Recognition for Achievement.
2023-2024 Awards include:
First Place Winner: $1800 and Solo Concert Performance
Second Place Winner: $700
Third Place Winner: $500
Finalists: Recognition for Achievement
Competition Note - Due to safety concerns and the need to prevent any potential risk to our finalists, the 2020 Competition Recital is postponed. We will notify the public of new information as it becomes available.
